“We certainly don’t expect perfection (this weekend) but certainly want to see who grasps the principles and fundamentals that we put in and make sure their compete level is there,” said Islanders general manager and head coach Jim Hulton.

Teams are allowed three 20-year-olds, and the Islanders could potentially have six players eligible for those positions. They include goaltender Franky Lapenna, defencemen William Trudeau and Jérémie Biakabutuka and forwards Keiran Gallant, Dawson Stairs and Patrick LeBlanc. Hulton said the coaching staff started implementing a lot of 5-on-5 system play at practice this week.
“It’s nice to be back,” said the 19-year-old Satny, who is from Tabor, Czechia. “There are a lot of new boys, and we are getting used to each other, but it’s going to be awesome, I hope.”Satny said the Islanders’ training camp features a lot of new faces and energy. Entering Year 2 in P.E.I.’s capital city, Satny admits he feels more comfortable with a year’s experience in the QMJHL under his belt.
