departs the Fighting Irish as the program’s all-time sack leader with 26.5 quarterback takedowns. It’s extremely impressive given the illustrious history of the program. Foskey is a plug-and-play starter that’s ready to immediately contribute to an NFL defense.
Isaiah Foskey: It’s definitely something that was discussed by the coaches at Notre Dame. Everybody knew what me and my leadership were all about. When I’ve met with teams throughout this process, they’ve noticed that I’m a vocal leader. They’ve seen it through the interviews. Isaiah Foskey: It meant everything to me. I have a great relationship with Justin Tuck, who previously held the record. It’s different when you get a chance to know the person who’s record you broke. That rarely happens, so I consider myself very fortunate. He [Tuck] told to go break the record at the beginning of the season. I was thankful for his support.
Isaiah Foskey: My arsenal varies. I can do a lot of different stuff. I can win both inside and outside. I can play right through a guy. I know what my go-to move is. Nobody can stop my go-to move. Every pass rusher needs that go-to. Mine is the long-arm. I come inside or outside off that. If it’s a pass, I’m going to get off the ball. I’m one of the faster defensive ends in this draft. I’m going to get off and I know that tackle can’t block me. He can’t match my first-step explosiveness. I feel like that’s the biggest pre-snap advantage I can get. I’m looking at the formation, I’m looking at their stance. I’m in love with the process.
They know I can rush the passer. They know I can set the edge in the run game. My combine testing numbers just solidified what they saw on film from me. I did it throughout the games. Even if I missed a sack or whatever, I’m always going full speed. They saw the speed on film.JM: How would you grade your overall performance?
