The day’s been announced for the next Apple Special Event. Here are all the details we know and what to expect.
This is another of Apple’s virtual keynotes, and while this may be disappointing for some, it’s certainly no surprise. Apple’s live keynotes are immaculately staged, but the recorded virtual events take the production quality to another level, with slick special effects and expertly delivered presentations.The strapline is Peek performance. That means that performance is the important word here, and we should expect Apple to focus on how powerful its updated products are.
So, while it would be cool to imagine that this iPhone would look like a more recent handset, such as the iPhone XR, for instance, this seems highly unlikely. You see, to make the phone affordable, Apple seems to want to stick with Touch ID as the unlock mechanism, and the last phones to come with this were the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Assuming the allegiance to Touch ID in the Home button continues, the new iPhone SE will look very like the 2020 version with its 4.7-inch display.
And it would have a chip that matched the one in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini which are more expensive still. There are some differences between the A15 Bionic found in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, so it’s likely the SE will have the less powerful of the two, but still amazingly powerful for the price.If the template for the next iPhone SE design is the current iPhone SE, then there’ll only be one camera, meaning it will continue to be the only iPhone with a single rear snapper.
