Investigative report finished into alleged legislature wrongdoing

VICTORIA — An independent report into allegations of wrongdoing by the top two staffers at the B.C. legislature is complete, but it’s unclear when or if it will be made public.

McLachlin submitted her report on Thursday — a day early — to the house leaders of the NDP, Green and Liberal parties. NDP house leader Mike Farnworth said this week that MLAs would need time to figure out what details could be made public. Plecas, who conducted a one-year undercover investigation with his chief of staff Alan Mullen, has said the two officials attempted to justify tens of thousands of dollars in questionable purchases — such as a wood splitter allegedly used by James at his home — billed to taxpayers.
