Interview with the Vampire overcomes an obstacle.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Interview with the Vampire season 2 can now resume filming after AMC agreed on a deal with SAG-AFRA. Based on Anne Rice's 1976 novel of the same name, Interview with the Vampire sees Louis de Pointe du Lac become a vampire after starting a relationship with Lestat de Lioncourt . Episodes are framed around Louis telling journalist Daniel Molloy his story.

According to Deadline, AMC Networks reached an agreement with SAG-AFTRA to resume the production of Interview with the Vampire season 2. Filming had commenced in Prague in April 2023 but paused in July because of the actors' strike. The show, along with The Walking Dead spinoffs Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live, is one of three shows to be included in the agreement, as SAG-AFTRA did not apply this negotiation to every AMC Networks production.

Why Interview With The Vampire Was Renewed For Season 2 While the AMC show is the most recent visual medium to adapt Rice's novel, it was not the only adaptation of the story. Neil Jordan directed a movie of the same title in 1994, with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt playing the central vampires. The film gathered over $223 million at the box office.

Further showcasing the show's success, Interview with the Vampire won a season 2 renewal before season 1 premiered, potentially because of positive audience reception to season 1 teasers and AMC's faith in the adaptation. When several movies and shows are getting cancelled before even reaching audiences, the renewal demonstrates AMC's dedication to the gothic horror show.

Currently, no release date has been announced for Interview with the Vampire season 2. Details surrounding the plot are also ambiguous. While much of the show will take place in Europe, and presumably, Jacob Anderson will reprise his role as Louis, the direction the series will head in is unknown. However, with other novels in Rice's arsenal, such as The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned, AMC has sufficient content to draw from.
