Xplore has about 1,000 employees and serves more than 300,000 internet subscribers across Canada, but its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization and free cash flow have declined over the past two years
Rural internet service provider Xplore Inc. has appointed a new top executive, the latest in a series of turnovers in the role as the company looks to stabilize itself after months of tense legal negotiations with creditors and to deploy recently raised capital.
“We are excited to welcome Brent, whose proven leadership and expertise in the telecommunications industry will help accelerate growth at Xplore,” Mr. Shammo said in a news release Monday. In particular, Xplore said its satellite business, which serves 80,000 customers, was no longer economically viable following a decline in subscribers. The company also cited its “substantial fixed costs” and said its existing capital structure was “no longer conducive to the long-term success of the company.”
