Fairhead is also proud that she has been able to raise money for the Perley Health Foundation in the process. As impressive as that was, it wasn’t the end of their day. Their mother, Genevieve McInnnis, was running in the 10K two hours later. “I am very happy,” said Wodak. “I didn’t quite follow the race plan, sort of, but you know, whatever, it worked. I didn’t die as bad as last year. I felt actually pretty good coming down that last one kilometre to go. It was definitely hot. I wish there was a little more water on the course, but what can you do?”
