The historic apothecary, Buly, is bringing its centuries-old wisdom firmly into the 21st century.
In the run-up to Paris Fashion Week, Buly 1803—the beguiling apothecary that is Paris’s answer to Santa Maria Novella—discretely opened a well-being room; a pint-size annex to its café slash boutique slash personalization atelier on the Rue Saintonge in the Upper Marais.
Victoire proposed a “Grand Massage” with two expert masseurs: Keiko—who most recently practiced in London—and Ornella, who had been specifically trained in the Miho facial drainage ritual. Past the grand café counter, candles, and sundry curios, I was ushered behind the shop and beyond a midnight blue velvet curtain into a jewel-box space lined in sapphire blue tiles, where a set of soft, striped cotton jammies waited on the table.
