“I’m just thankful we got the scan and we did the right thing by the player for the bigger picture, and that we didn’t push.” The encounter against France is the final game on the schedule for Canada before the World Cup, although they are expected to set up another exhibition contest prior to the tournament.
France is ranked No. 5 in the world and are considered a championship contender at the Women’s World Cup. The country has among the best women’s leagues in the world with Lyon considered to have the best club on the planet. “I’d love to have the core player that are missing, and fingers crossed they’ll be back, but it’s a massive opportunity for anyone that steps on the pitch.”
