At about 7:10 p.m. on Monday, RCMP, fire services and paramedics responded to a report of a side-by-side crash on a logging road near the 1100 block of Forties Road. Police officers discovered that a Polaris Rzr travelling on the narrow gravel roadway rolled, coming to rest on its roof, according to a news release.One of the four occupants, an infant from Forties, suffered life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries, police said.
Two of the occupants, a 27-year-old woman from Forties who was driving, and a 52-year-old man from New Ross who was a passenger, suffered serious injuries and were transported to hospital.Forties Road was closed for several hours.
