Soccer player Claire Turner and volleybally player Rowan Teegee-Zatorksi named to regional list
Two Prince George athletes have been named as regional recipients of the 2022 Premier’s Awards for Indigenous Youth Excellence in Sport.
Claire Turner of Fort St. John plays for the UNBC Timberwolves women’s soccer team. Rowan Teegee-Zatorksi has played volleyball for the Duchess Park Condors and the Prince George Kodiaks. He will be in Halifax later this week playing for Team B.C.’s U19 volleyball team at the North American Indigenous Games.
Both athletes are featured in a video celebrating the area recipients. The section featuring Turner starts at the 5:40 points and Teegee-Zatorski is featured immediately afterwards.
These regional recipients automatically serve as nominees for the Provincial Premier’s Awards for Indigenous Youth Excellence in Sport, which will be announced later this year.
