Mounties were called to a car crash in which several people had been injured in the 200-block of Stewart Road at about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Officers were told the driver had fled the crash on foot. He was found in the 400-block of Cusheon Lake Road. Although already injured, RCMP say he “allegedly resisted officers’ attempts to take him into custody,” said Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet in a news release. Ambulance crews assessed the man’s injuries, he was then taken to hospital by police. He was later transferred to a larger hospital for treatment of serious injuries.after the incident to determine whether the man’s injuries were a result of the crash or the actions of police.
