A fan artist imagines what the character of Elsa (Idina Menzel) from the Frozen franchise would look like if she was portrayed in live-action.

Frozen fan art imagines what Elsa might look like in live-action. The character, voiced by Idina Menzel, is the Queen of Arendelle who was taught to keep her magical ice powers secret throughout her early life. Elsa has appeared in the sequel Frozen II, a variety of short films, and was previously portrayed by Georgina Haig in a live-action alternate universe throughout season 4 of ABC's Once Upon a Time.

On DeviantArt, user FENGTASY reimagined Frozen's Elsa as a live-action character. In two different images, Elsa is rendered with a lifelike face and hair, using her powers in majestic tableaus. Check out both images below: SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Close Will Frozen Get a Live-Action Remake? Throughout the past decade, many of Disney's animated classics have received official live-action remakes. While this trend began in the mid-1990s with films including 1996's 101 Dalmations, it picked up steam in the mid-2010s.

This year has already seen the release of live-action remakes Peter Pan and Wendy and The Little Mermaid, and many more on the way. However, a live-action remake of Frozen has not been officially announced. This may be the case because there is an animated Frozen 3 already in development and producers want to maintain interest in the animated format of Frozen until that film comes out.

However, it seems somewhat inevitable that Frozen will eventually receive a live-action remake. While Disney has largely remade their classics from the 1990s and before, several upcoming projects are based on much more recent movies including 2002's Lilo & Stitch and 2016's Moana. These projects have set a precedent that likely mean Frozen's remake is right around the corner once the current Frozen cast are ready to step down from their roles.
