In the future, wind energy could join forces with electric vehicles to power more of the grid paid Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
emissions from cars, trucks and buses. But this burgeoning demand for electric vehicles is starting to overload existing energy grids as more drivers join the hunt for a charge.
Offshore wind power could be the solution to this growing demand, and at the same time, electric vehicles could address a problem with wind power. Power-to-X technologies — that is, the conversion of excess renewable energy for consumer use in a different sector — can use electric vehicles as temporary mobile storage units for surplus energy generated from wind farms, energy that would otherwise go unused.
This video looks at the changes in power demand related to a significant switch to electric vehicles, showing how the energy industry is creating innovative solutions to the challenges ahead. A leading industrial firm, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group is finding new, simpler and sustainable ways to power cities, improve infras...
