Season three of HBO's Barry is something close to a masterpiece
—Bill Hader’s half-hour comedy-thriller currently in its miraculous third season on HBO—and I suspect you haven’t either. In fact you may not have seenat all, which is the other issue with a show as unconventional as this. In its first two seasons,picked up acclaim and Emmys, but I never felt that it broke into the mainstream.
Goldberg plays Sally as an actor who is both vulnerable and casually cruel, who loves Barry but would drop him in an instant if it served her, who is so amped up on fear and ambition that she might combust. You can’t take your eyes off her, nor the other cast members here, especially Carrigan as NoHo Hank, a live wire gay Chechen criminal who steals every scene he’s in.
