The 2024 Olympic Games will be officially opened in Paris by French President Emmanuel Macron, starting at 1:30 p.m. ET or 7:30 p.m. local time. The opening ceremony will take place along the Seine River and include a flotilla of around 100 barges carrying around 7,000 athletes sailing through the centre of Paris.
