SYDNEY, N.S. — Passersby along the Sydney waterfront boardwalk stop to admire the massive Queen Mary 2, docked at the Port of Sydney on Thanksgiving Monday. As noted on the port’s social media page, this marks the Cunard Line cruise ship’s first-ever arrival to the main dock.
The vessel, at 345 meters in length, was said to be carrying 2,620 passengers and a crew of 1,200, according to the port's cruise schedule. The Queen Mary 2 was one of two vessels docked at the port, the other being Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Pearl at the second dock.
