Belleville police report
Total calls for service – Belleville Police Service responded to 65 calls for service in the 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on the 24rd of February, 2023 to 5:00 am on the 27th of February, 2023.On 28 February 2023, at 1:00a.m. police observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed while running a stop sign in the area of Tripp Avenue and Moira Street West.
Police stopped the vehicle and had determined that the driver appeared that he had been drinking. Police had the driver provide a breath sample into a roadside screening device, which the driver failed. Matthew Goheen, 36, of Quinte West was charged with operation while impaired and over 80mgs. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days, and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. He will appear in court on 23 March 2023.
