Warning! Contains spoilers for Art Brut #1!Fans of the art world and superhero stories finally have the perfect comic that blends both worlds with Image Comics' Art Brut #1. What started life as The Electric Sublime returns in a remastered introductory issue that kicks off wonderfully entertaining premise anyone will enjoy.

Art Brut comes from W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morazzo, the creative team behind Image Comics' hit horror anthology, Ice Cream Man. Art Brut actually precedes the duo's work on Ice Cream Man as the book was originally published in 2017 under its original title, The Electric Sublime, as a four-issue comic series from IDW.

Image's Art Brut Is A Highly Unique And Engaging Adventure If readers don’t get enough from the main feature, the Silver Age-esque short story, “The Continuing Adventures of Art Brut”, provides an extra little treat. The backup helps explain more about the sorts of cases the BAI take on, and how Arthur uses his particular powers to help solve them.

W. Maxwell Prince and Martin Morazzo deliver a solid introductory issue with Art Brut #1. Fans of Ice Cream Man who are expecting outlandish violence and an unconventional narrative will not be disappointed. Art Brut takes the familiar trappings of the art world and blends it with a trippy superhero tale. With a couple of dashes of dark humor added in, the end result is a unique idea that immediately finds a voice to separate itself from the pack.
