SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Peace officers with the Department of Justice and Public Safety have seized contraband cannabis and tobacco following a drug bust in Saint John and a traffic stop in Bathurst in late April.
On April 25, officers stopped a vehicle in Bathurst with the help of the Bathurst Police Force, seizing 101,600 illegal cigarettes and arresting a 60-year-old man from Summerside, P.E.I. He was later released and is expected to face charges under the Tobacco Tax Act and Section 121.1 of the Criminal Code when he appears in Bathurst provincial court in July.
