Ridge Meadows RCMP were called out to reports of several shots fired in the area of 21300-block of 124th Avenue around 2 p.m. The officer and nurse who were in the area tried life-saving measures on the victim but he died on scene.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the murder probe. The RCMP serious crime unit and support team, along with IHIT members, were still at the scene late Thursday afternoon. “At this time, it is unknown if this is related to the Lower Mainland gang conflict,” said RCMP Cpl. Julie Klaussner in a statement.
Witnesses and anyone with dash-cam or home surveillance footage that might be useful to the investigation are asked to call the IHIT tip line at 1-877-551-4448.
