If you're in the mood for a good scare, Pet Sematary has your number via nparts

Jason Clarke’s character has a line in the Pet Sematary remake that will be familiar to new homeowners: “How far back is the property line?” But the response from his new neighbour, old man know-it-all , isn’t reassuring. “Well, it’s further than you’d ever care to go.” Looks like someone’s going to need the services of a surveyor. And possibly an exorcist.

The property includes a pet cemetery, charmingly misspelled by the local urchins who use it to bury gerbils and whatnot. It also has another oddity found in the original 1989 adaptation of Stephen King’s 1983 novel; a country road where the only traffic is 18-wheelers that go blasting past at 110 kilometres an hour.

Now, perhaps the notion of a zombie feline won’t strike fear in your heart. Will it return, continue to ignore you, and perhaps cough up the odd undead hairball? But when Louis buries the family pet there on Lithgow’s say-so, it comes back ornery, scruffy and quite scratchy. It’s a complicated puzzle of fear, but the pieces fit together nicely thanks to the work of co-directors Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, and screenwriters Matt Greenberg and Jeff Buhler; he wrote the not-scary-bad thriller The Prodigy. The story works particularly well if you buy into the notion that the evil magic of the burying place spreads like ripples in a pond, or blast zones around a nuclear detonation.
