When Los Angeles starts allowing businesses to reopen in the coming weeks and months, the city could take a cue from Lithuania.
In an effort to help dining establishments open for business while still maintaining safe social distancing, Lithuania’s capital city, Vilnius, is planning to let restaurants and bars turn plazas, squares and streets into a giant open-air cafes, theThe Health Ministry has allowed restaurants to reopen, but only with outdoor seating and tables spaced at least six feet apart.
By opening up public spaces for tables and chairs, that gives restaurateurs the option of serving more customers and, hopefully, keeping their struggling business afloat.
