Stay off the roads this morning if you’re in north or north-central Alabama.
Dec. 27, 2022, 4:18 a.m.Icy roads are expected across north Alabama and the northern part of central Alabama through Tuesday morning. Temperatures are expected to finally rise above freezing later today.The National Weather Service is warning that widespread black ice is possible on roads across the region after a round of light snow on Monday.
The weather service in Huntsville said a tenth of an inch up to 1 inch of snow was reported across north Alabama on Monday as well as widespread black ice. Many roads were closed near and east of the Interstate 65 corridor, forecasters said. The National Weather Service in Huntsville warned of “widespread” black ice across the Tennessee Valley through this morning.
