Man fatally crushed by tree as ice storm knocks out power across Quebec

At a press conference, Premier François Legault said the man’s death is a reminder that people should be careful amid falling branches and electrical wires., with the rest in the Outaouais. Legault said Hydro-Québec is working as fast as it can and about two-thirds will be reconnected by midnight Friday.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday, Châteauguay, an off-island suburb of Montreal, declared a state of emergency with hundreds of homes flooded.
