Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy appears set to suit up in his 600th career NHL game Saturday when the Lightning take on the Washington Capitals. He allowed four goals on 24 shots in his lone start of the season Thursday night.

Sergei Bobrovsky was in the starter's net at the Leafs' morning skate and is expected to get the nod between the pipes Saturday against the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Arena. Bobrovsky stopped 21 of 24 shots in Toronto's season-opening loss to the Montreal Canadiens earlier this week.

Meanwhile, rookie forward Gavin McKenna was one of the first skaters on the ice at the team's gameday optional Saturday morning, according to TSN's Mark Masters. Florida Panthers Forward Aleksander Barkov had an MRI on Friday after being forced out of Thursday night's overtime loss against the San Jose Sharks,“It’s not related to his injury last year at all,” Panthers head coach Paul Maurice said after the game.

“We’ll have a good idea by tomorrow afternoon. ”Both defenceman Jake Sanderson and forward Warren Foegele were full participants in Friday's skate and are expected to be in the lineup when the Senators open their 2026-27 season in Toronto against the Maple Leafs Saturday night, Sanderson left last weekend's preseason finale for precautionary reasons, while Foegele revealed to reporters Friday that he had off-season surgery to treat a lingering injury from last season.

Sanderson had 14 goals and 54 points in 67 games last year, while Foegele had six goals and eight points in 21 games for the Sens after being acquired from the Los Angeles Kings on March 5.
