Following Republican Rep. Rashida Tlaib's assertion that ICE agents killed an undocumented immigrant named Mario David Coronado Juarez during a pursuit in Grand Rapids, authorities have clarified that officers discontinued the stop due to public safety concerns when a different driver fled. Police reports confirm the crash and fatality occurred after the vehicle hit a tree and caught fire, while DHS emphasized the deceased was not the target of the operation and the actual suspect evaded capture without being chased.
“A short time later, officers saw smoke nearly half a mile from the attempted stop and discovered the vehicle had crashed into a tree and caught fire.
“Democrats will say and do pretty much anything to smear the federal immigration enforcement agents who are charged with enforcing the immigration laws passed by Congress, as evidenced by an incident that took place in Michigan on Sunday involving ICE agents and an illegal alien. From Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s telling of it, ICE “killed” Guatemalan illegal alien Mario David Coronado Juarez during the course of a Grand Rapids pursuit, and “caused a fatal crash” in the process.
NBC News filed At approximately 7:10 a.m. Sunday, Grand Rapids police responded to reports of a car that had crashed into a tree and caught fire. Coronado “was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police said in a statement Sunday. In a follow-up statement Tuesday, Grand Rapids police said, “Prior to the crash Sunday morning, Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel attempted to stop the involved vehicle and the driver fled.
”Mario lived and worked in Michigan for 7 years as a construction worker, sending money home to his kids in Guatemala. DHS responded to Tlaib by noting that Coronado Juarez was not actually the illegal alien they were looking for when they made the stop.
Further, they said that he fled away from the scene in a vehicle, wasn’t pursued, and that he eventually crashed into a tree: On September 20, ICE officers attempted a stop of a vehicle registered to a known criminal illegal alien with multiple alcohol related driving offenses who is also wanted in Guatemala for a drunk and disorderly charge, during a targeted enforcement operation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As officers attempted the stop to confirm the identity of the driver, the driver of the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.
In the interest of public safety, ICE officers immediately discontinued the enforcement action. A short time later, officers saw smoke nearly half a mile from the attempted stop and discovered the vehicle had crashed into a tree and caught fire. Officers immediately attempted to render aid and extinguish the fire until the Grand Rapids Police Department and Fire Department arrived. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by local officials.
Officials also estimated that the suspect’s vehicle was traveling well over 100 miles per hour when the crash occurred. Upon further investigation the driver of the vehicle was Mario David Coronado-Juarez and not the vehicle’s registered owner. Coronado-Juarez was an illegal alien from Guatemala who was previously removed by Border Patrol from the United States in 2021. He re-entered the country, a felony, at an unknown date and location.
On September 20, ICE officers attempted a stop of a vehicle registered to a known criminal illegal alien with multiple alcohol related driving offenses who is also wanted in Guatemala for a drunk and disorderly charge, during a targeted enforcement operation in Grand Rapids,…“Given the circumstances of this incident, the governor has directed the Michigan State Police to conduct an independent review of the law enforcement actions surrounding this situation in coordination with the Grand Rapids Police Department’s investigation,” Kaylie Hanson, a spokeswoman for Ms. Whitmer, said in a statement.
Other Democrats in the state are calling for a federal investigation in addition to the one that will be conducted by the state: Democratic lawmakers in Michigan are calling on officials to investigate a single-vehicle accident that killed a man who police said was being pursued by ICE agents in Grand Rapids over the weekend. Tlaib demonstrates the automatic, reflexive actions of leftists: lie, make baseless accusations, and run over anybody between themselves and a camera.
The government still doesn’t get it! This muslim btixh KNOWS he wasn’t killed by ICE but also knows that low IQ voters will never see or hear the truth. She and her Democrat comrades have been doing this for years and the administration keeps doing the same stupid thing. The House needs to take action against these liars and censure them and remove them from all committees. Just like Omar and her immigration violations, nothing ever happens!
