I am about as handy as anyone else who knows how to pick up a hammer or plug in a power drill , but for whatever reason, we decided that open shelving in the bedroom would be the solution to our closet conundrum. But buying some gussied-up planks of wood and brackets from Ikea seemed too simple — we needed something to hang things from, in addition to fold and stack them on — and looking into more custom options seemed too overwhelming, time-consuming, and pricey.
