Looking back, ignorance was not bliss
I turned 20 in 2009, in the middle of the Great Recession, and watching my parents' careers turn upside down shocked me into paralysis. For years, I ignored my money. I didn't plan, I didn't save — I didn't even check my bank accounts. But I just turned 30, and I've made a lot of changes since then. I met with a financial planner who helped me get my ducks in a row, and I'm in a much better position.
