Lindsay Collins had a heck of a year, winning the Sydney Roosters’ Jack Gibson Medal, and being a standout for Queensland – but says this is just the start.
Lindsay Collins is arguably the most improved front-rower in the NRL this year. But the 27-year-old says he’s still searching for ways to boost his game declaring, “I’m just getting started.”
One player hoping to stop him in Townsville will be future Tricolours teammate and Samoan wrecking ball Spencer Leniu. “This might be the greatest I ever be, but we’ll see. The self-doubt gets a bit smaller. But you still have to have it there because that’s what keeps you doing.” With Jared Waerea-Hargreaves to retire at the end of next year, the Roosters’ front row is in safe hands with Collins, as well as Leniu, who at just 23 has already won three premierships at Penrith.Collins said of the middle match-up against Leniu: “He’s a ball of power. He comes off the bench and injects himself into the game, and if you’re not ready for it, he can change the momentum with a few carries. I respect all players, but I also don’t fear anyone.
