Law enforcement and investigators work on the scene of an officer-involved shooting at a home in the 1100 block of Bammel Lane on the North Side on Thursday.SAN ANTONIO — The man fatally shot by a San Antonio police officer on Thursday was verbally threatening his ex-girlfriend while holding a gun at the time, according to a custodial death report from the Texas Attorney General’s Office.

San Antonio police officers were called shortly after noon Thursday to a home in the 11900 block of Bammel Lane, where they saw Gonzalez standing next to his ex-girlfriend, who had filed the protection order. Police Chief William McManus said that Gonzalez had been stalking the woman to the point of putting a tracking device on her vehicle.
