‘I knew we would find her’: Woman lost in Hawaii found alive after 17 days
Eller, pictured here in centre, said she lost her way on May 8, turning a three-mile hike she had made before into a fight for her life.Julia Eller, the mother of Amanda Eller, a hiker who was found alive after she disappeared in Maui weeks ago, says her daughter is doing “remarkably” well considering what she’s been through.
Hiking crews had been searching for the woman after she went missing from a popular hiking trail in Maui on May 9th.“I felt in my heart she was alive. I never gave up hope for a minute. And even though at times you know I would have those moments of despair, I stayed strong for her because I knew we would find her if we just stayed, stayed with the program, stayed persistent .. you know and kept after - that we would eventually find her. we just needed a little patience,” said her mother.
