Virginia’s Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears joined the growing list of Republicans on Thursday who say they won’t support a 2024 presidential run by Donald Trump.
“A true leader understands when they have become a liability,” the lieutenant governor added. “A true leader understands that it’s time to step off the stage, and the voters have given us that very clear message.” Several Trump-endorsed candidates lost key House, Senate, and gubernatorial races on Tuesday or are in danger of losing, and many in the GOP have pinned the blame on Trump.
