McCluskey said Brodie’s crime contained “an aspect of callousness and calculation that must be denounced.” Brodie, now 49, pleaded guilty last December to committing a sexual assault in the course of a break and enter. Both McCluskey and the offender’s lawyer, Elena Ryland, said the offender’s age at the time, just six months past his 18th birthday, was a significant mitigating factor in sentencing.This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below.Last Dec. 16, court heard details of Brodie’s crime and the devastating effect it had on his victim, then and now.
