Confirming the development of its first hot-hatch EV, the company said: ‘Hyundai Motor’s first electric N, Ioniq 5 N will hit the global market in 2023. More details about the first EV N will be unveiled later.’The 5 hot hatch is ahead of the 6 streamliner saloon in the production plan, explaining why our spies have already caught the go-faster hot hatch on manoeuvres in prototype guise.
Expect flared wheelarches and more aggressive bumpers on the production version. Additionally, this model also has the ‘never just drive’ logo splashed across its ‘disguise’, a line associated with Hyundai’s N division. ‘Could you imagine we weren’t working on one already?’ added a proud Albert Biermann, the ex-BMW executive who launched the N department and still acts in an ambassadorial role.
