Two-vehicle collision sent five people to hospital, 19-year-old and 17-year-old killed
Two teens from Espanola have died as a result of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 17 near Massey last night.
Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police responded to the incident just before 1 a.m. today, along with Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services and Sables-Spanish Rivers Fire Department.Police said the crash was a head-on collision between a transport truck and a pickup truck. “Two people have died and three people have been injured as a result,” OPP said. “A 19-year-old, from Espanola, was pronounced deceased at the scene. In addition, a 17-year-old, also from Espanola, was transported to a local hospital where they later died as a result of their injuries.”The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP's Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team.
