Teravainen will miss the rest of the Hurricanes’ playoff series against the Islanders.
Carolina Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen suffered a broken hand in the third period of Wednesday’s playoff game against the New York Islanders and will undergo surgery, according to Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour.
Brind’Amour said Teravainen will undergo hand surgery on Thursday and will miss the rest of the Hurricanes’ Eastern Conference quarterfinal playoff series against the Islanders while recovering. The Hurricanes entered the series without the services of top wingers Andrei Svechnikov and Max Pacioretty, both of whom are on injured reserve with season-ending lower-body injuries.
