The Hurricanes expect to have Dougie Hamilton available for Game 1 against the Bruins.
Hamilton did not play during the Stanley Cup Qualifiers, when the Hurricanes swept the New York Rangers to win their best-of-five series.
The 27-year-old returned to practice last Thursday after being deemed unfit to play since July 22, when he suffered an undisclosed injury during Carolina’s summer training camp. Hamilton had 14 goals and 40 points in 47 games before a fractured fibula ended his regular season on Jan. 16.
