Hundreds rally in Balboa Park in support of abortion rights on Mother's Day [Breaking]
Hundreds of protesters marched through Balboa Park on Sunday, rallying in support of abortion rights on Mother’s Day.
The protesters chanted, “Bans off our bodies” and “Hey, hey, ho, ho, abortion bans have got to go.” They held signs that read, “My body, my choice” and “End abortion stigma.” One sign read, “You’re pro-life until the baby is poor, trans, Black, gay, Mexican, sick.” “When you make the choice to become a mother, your entire world changes, and it’s not an easy decision,” said Reddell, a mother to two girls, ages 8 and 11. “I’ve had that right my whole life. I can’t even imagine that right being taken away for my daughters.
Garcia and other protesters said they believe overturning Roe v. Wade could lead to the loss of other constitutional rights.
