With five Katy ISD elementary schools severely overcrowded and two new elementary schools opening next year, the boundaries of seven Katy ISD elementary schools will change for the 2023-24 school year.

Elementary No. 45 and No. 46 are scheduled to open in the fall of 2023 and are currently under construction through the 2021 voter-approved bond program. Both schools will be located in the northwest quadrant of Katy ISD, with Elementary No. 45 located at 25600 Longenbaugh Road and Elementary No. 46 located at 25615 Clay Road.

The five existing schools impacted by the modification are overcrowded, according to data from the district.Campbell Elementary first opened during the 2018-19 school year and is already enrolled above its building capacity. Enrollment at the campus is projected to continually increase over the next 10 years. The school's capacity is 1,030. Enrollment is already at 1,612.
