Police believe the plaques were stolen to be sold as scrap, as the price of the metal rises. There have been multiple incidents of bronze plaques being stolen from monuments in southern Alberta in recent months.“The theft of these plaques will undoubtedly leave citizens feeling disappointed and upset,” said Staff Sergeant Colin Chisholm of the CPS General Investigations Unit.
