Longtime wrestlers went "back to the basics," presenting a family-friendly show Saturday, an homage to the history of wrestling in Gatineau

“When we came up with the idea to bring back wrestling without the sexuality and the violence, I was all in. We want to do shows for the whole family. I will not present a show I cannot bring my five-year-old kid with me; it’s just good guys vs. bad guys.

For Charbonneau, the love for professional wrestling began at the Templeton bowling centre in Gatineau. Twenty-seven years later, he’s still at it, wrestling as Knightman, and is part of a three-man group which runs GPW. The others in the group are Dereick Clement, who wrestles as Thunder, and Martin Villeneuve .

There’s also a strong blast-from-the-past presence. Among those expected at the show: Raymond Rougeau, Demolition’s Ax and Smash , Paul Leduc, Carl Leduc and locals Guy Sauriol, Rene Bastien, Joel Racine and historian Pat Laprade.
