Willow stars Dempsey Bryk and Ruby Cruz tease how they incorporated elements of Madmartigan and Sorsha, their characters' parents, into their performances. The new Willow series picks up twenty years after the defeat of Bavmorda, with Eleora Danan hidden away and her identity kept a secret even from herself. Willow, a now powerful sorcerer, is summoned to lead a new generation of heroes on a quest to rescue a prince who has been abducted.
Two of the characters, Airk and Kit, are the children of Madmartigan and Sorsha his allies during his first quest. In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Bryk and Cruz share how they incorporated elements of Madmartigan and Sorsha into their performances. Bryk also hinted at Easter eggs in a fight scene that harkens back to the skills of Madmartigan.

What was interesting is what we incorporate and what we reject as their kids.Dempsey Bryk: And also a little hint: There's some Easter eggs of some very specific things within fighting [styles] that I wanted to have, and that the stunt team wanted to do. There’s maybe an Easter egg or a reference to some Madmartigan stuff.
Kit and Airk are part of a great legacy as the children of Madmartigan and Sorsha, two people who protected Elora Danan, and the grandchildren of the evil sorceress Bavmorda. Their legacy could be a key part of what Bryk and Cruz have chosen to include in their performances. Madmartigan's absence could have led to an estrangement between Sorsha and her children, or perhaps they've grown closer without him.
The legacy of Madmartigan's heroism and Sorsha's brave action in standing against her own mother are inextricably tied to the legend of Elora Danan. Elora is the most important figure in Willow mythology, and she casts an impressive shadow that Airk and Kit may be living under. Their parents have risked their lives to protect Elora, and perhaps Madmartigan's absence is tied to the hidden princess as well.
