Artemis I is the first in a series of complex missions that will enable human exploration to the moon and mars. It kicks off with the launch of the space agency's Space Launch Systems rocket carrying an uncrewed Origon capsule. If all goes well, NASA's Artemis program plans to eventually launch the first woman and first person of color to the moon. Known to many as"NASA's Artemis launch," the Artemis I two-hour launch window opens at 8:33 a.m. Monday. The 322-foot Space Launch System with Orion capsule is set to launch from pad 39B at Kennedy Space Center and embark on a 42-day mission.
