How saying 'yes' can improve creativity and company culture, according to Doberman founder Lisa Lindstrom

“At the time — when we founded the agency 20 years ago — it was cool to work long hours at all the agencies, and a lot of young people spent days and nights at the office,” Lindström explains. But don’t get it twisted: just because it’s recognized as a top place to work, that doesn’t mean employees do yoga and meditate all day.
Today’s type of leadership calls for creating the best conditions for team members to flourish, and one of those ways is not by emblazoning corporate values on the office walls. “If you ask me what are the ‘Doberman values’, we don’t have four words written on a wall. I’m allergic to all these corporate environments who simply say ‘we are customer-centric, open, transparent, and warm.’ It doesn’t mean anything.” When it comes to corporate culture, the leadership team needs to walk the talk.
