Kiffin, who was reported to be a candidate for the Auburn head coaching job before hiring Freeze, is being paid $2.5 million more than Freeze this year.analysis of Freeze’s contract, that bonus would break down to $2 million for winning the national championship, $200,000 for winning the SEC championship, $200,000 for winning the SEC West and $150,000 for each SEC win beginning with Auburn’s fifth of the season.
Auburn would have to be an undefeated national champion for Freeze to receive his maximum bonus — which he is of course ineligible for with two losses this season so far.
