Do you believe Deshaun is a changed man?
Watson believes his testimony may have changed his teammates’ perception of him, especially the new ones who know him mostly from the bad headlines he generated over the past two years.
“I didn’t think of the NFL,” he said. “I didn’t know I was going to make it out of high school. My mom being sick and having tongue cancer and not being able to eat solid food ever again. Again, not having a father figure in my life — ever. Probably 27 years only seeing four times and different stuff like that are things that people don’t really get to hear about.
“The whole situation changed me,” Watson said. “It was a situation where I had to lock on myself, channel and really know who I’m surrounding myself with and just really who’s going to be there and support me even when I’m at my lowest point. Instead of flying to Houston for depositions and meetings with his attorneys, he’s spent most his free time this offseason preparing for the season, including hosting his offensive teammates in Puerto Rico, Houston and Miami.
