At the 34-minute mark of this otherwise rote bone-crunching, gun-blasting bloody picture, stunt coordinator-turned-directorhidden edits if you know where to look it’s still a pretty impressive piece of filmmaking. The very bearded Hargrave himself strapped himself to the front of a vehicle as it zoomed and bashed and skidded all around during the chase section of the sequence. A behind-the-scenes video from Netflix shows just how. Watching Hemsworth and Russo kvell about their director is one thing, but seeing young, who plays the kidnapped boy in need of extraction, exclaim “the car’s going everywhere!” is a delight.
