We got *** call from command desk about *** woman shot on Doman Road in New Orleans East. Neighbors said they heard *** handful of gunshots, maybe as many as 10 to 20 gunshots. That is uncommon anywhere everybody realizes something is up. What is going on. Police arrive at the scene within minutes.
"Chyna Gibson is a transgender performer, popular in the culture of New Orleans. Popular in that industry. Her friends will tell you loved, loved being on the stage, loved performing," said Travers Mackel, a WDSU anchor. Around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2017, Gibson went to Belle Plaza in New Orleans East to pick up a dress for an upcoming event. Gibson planned to wear the dress to a Mardi Gras party that night.The news of her death traveled quickly across social media, leaving many puzzled as Gibson was loved by many.
