A 30\u002Dminute hovercraft trip between Toronto and the Niagara Region may soon become a reality.
Hoverlink Ontario has announced that it’s in the final approval stage to launch the half-hour trip between Ontario Place in Toronto and Port Weller in St. Catharines in summer 2023. The company is using high-speed, eco-friendly and weatherproof hovercrafts, the first of their kind in North America, and claims the vessels will “run quieter than a standard dishwasher” and can travel across land, ice and water in all weather conditions and temperatures.Article content Described as “riding on air” and leaving no wake nor wash, the hovercrafts will have climate-controlled cabins and be able to serve more than three million passengers yearly.
